The large portfolio of polyurethane systems offered by Baulé results from years of constant development. These systems have proven their efficiency through machine or hand casting processes in all kinds of applications worldwide. Baulé systems cover a wide spectrum of castable polyurethane formulations combining most diisocyanates and polyols available. The company offers a full line of cast elastomer systems.
TDI-PTMEG based prepolymers are particularly adapted to applications requiring excellent overall physical mechanical properties. They are characterised by good abrasion resistance, high tensile strength, good behaviour at low temperature, high resilience, good resistance to hydrolysis (water, acid and base) and to micro-organisms. They offer low viscosity and easy processing characteristics. With these systems, a large range of hardness (from 80A to 80D) is available enabling to satisfy a large variety of applications. TDI-PPG based prepolymers are offering at a lower cost good physical properties, high resistance to hydrolysis and retention of elasticity at low temperatures.
The TDI-Ester series develops high performances in terms of tear resistance, dynamical properties and its hardness goes from from 80 to 95 Shore A. Particularly recommended for applications requesting cut resistance and/or in contact with hydrocarbons and solvents, they are also used for printing rollers thanks to their low compression set. In order to facilitate the hand casting, Baulé developed a TDI-Ester series with a lower viscosity for an easier processing. For very aggressive environments such as solvents, Baulé offers systems (20 to 58 Shore A) with a superior performance in comparison to standard Polyadipate. Baulé developed a TDI-Caprolactone series enable to reach 60 / 70 Shore A with excellent dynamical properties and offering a good compromise in resistance to both water and hydrocarbons environments.

The MDI-Ether systems series offer a good resistance to abrasion, a very good resistance to hydrolysis (water, acid and base) and to micro-organisms as well as a high resilience. Some systems of the series may be suitable for contact with either wet or dry food stuff.
The MDI-Ester series offers generally very good resistance to abrasion and tear and very good resistance to chemicals (hydrocarbons, oils, solvents…). Baulé developed a series that offers excellent resistance to internal heat build-up and very good dynamic properties. It is highly suitable for applications such as wheels and castor wheels with high speed and high loads, springs, bumper. The company also offer a series with a large range of hardnesses from 60 Shore A to 60 Shore D and easy processing thanks to the low viscosity of the components and a long pot life. In addition, some systems of the series may be suitable for contact with food (wet or dry). On the Ether-Ester boundary, the company developed MDI-Caprolactone systems for applications such as doctor blades, wiper blades, squeegees.

By reducing the level of unreacted TDI, the benefits are both for the worker by reducing the exposure to TDI and for the processing thanks to a lower viscosity and a longer pot-life. Thus Low Unreacted (LU) TDI prepolymers enable customers to cast a greater variety of parts with improved performance. These series are available in both Ether and Ester series, with general properties similar to the conventional series.

With Quasi-systems, a wide range of hardnesses is easily reachable with the same components.
In wet and warm surroundings, it is compulsory to use an MDI-Ether system to prevent hydrolysis damage from water or acids and bases. Depending on the level of performance required, the company formulated PTMEG and PPG versions. Some systems of the series may be suitable for applications in contact with food. The PTMEG series is appropriate for applications such as hydraulic seals, hydrocyclones, timing belts, while the PPG series will offer a very low compression set. These systems are intended for instance for uses at low temperatures and for the manufacturing of fenders or concrete moulds.
The MDI-Ester Quasi systems offer a superior abrasion and tear resistance and excellent resistance to chemicals (hydrocarbons, oils, solvents…). It is perfect choice for applications such as screens, scrapers, PIGs, concrete blades, sheets, vibratory bowls… Baulé developed a series with an outstanding resistance to solvents to satisfy any squeegee applications. The company also offers a Quasi-MDI-Caprolactone based series with excellent fatigue resistance that is adapted, among other applications, for Flip-Flop screens.

Processed on a machine, Baulé "Ribbon Coating" systems are proposed both in ether and ester formulations. The Ribbon Coating moulding technique enables the coating of rolls with liquid polyurethane without mould. The MDI-Ether based system offer a hardness range from 60A to 75D with excellent abrasion and tear resistance and with a low compression set. The MDI-Ester systems will perform very well manufacturing rollers for the steel industry. |

TDI or MDI based, from 10A to 95A, cold curing systems are easy to process as the full casting process can be done at room temperature : no preheating, mould at room temperature, no post-curing. Because they can offer low shrinkage and high elongation, they are particularly appropriate for the manufacturing of prototypes or concrete moulds.

Baytec® MAX is a major breakthrough : MDI prepolymer with amine cross-linkers bring together the performance of MDI based systems with easy processing and good flow-ability. Available in both Ether and Ester series and cross-linked with various amines, the resulting polyurethane elastomers possess superior mechanical properties such as high elongation, high resilience and excellent tear and tear propagation resistance. They also have exceptional abrasion resistance and hydrolytic stability. The low compression set values of the Baytec® MAX systems are ideal for applications where materials have to recover from loads rapidly.
